Is hydroxy chloroquine  helpful to fight Covid-19

As we all know that during the spread of Covid-19 over world wide area there is no country untouched by this disease,so by continuously increasing of patients there will be demand of chloroquine increases.

Hydroxychloroquine is sold under the brand of plaquenil,i is the medication for certain types of malaria and other treatments as discoid or systemic lupus erythematous and rheumatoid arthritis in patients.


India is one of the world's largest exporter of genuine medicine and one of the largest producer of hydroxy chloroquine with drugmakers Zydus,cadila and IPCA laboratories.


India has giving priority to the Indian patients so that it banned drugs export, India has recommended that it's healthcare workers and high risk patients taking this antimalarial drug and prevent themselves from the infection and viruses of Covid-19.


There has been a surge in global demands for the chloroquine and hydroxy chloroquine drugs despitethe lack of scientific evidence they use it against Corona viruses. Chloroquine has many side effects also:-


• headache,ringing your ears.

• nausea,stomach pain, vomiting

• weight loss

• mood changing

• skin rashes

•hairloss etc.


An early studies from France said that hydroxy chloroquine is helpful in fight with Covid-19,but only in small no of cases without rigour of randomised control trial. Another small trial from China, published on last Tuesday showed that drug has no impact . Larger trials are even done in US by WHO are just starting.


 Mr. Donald Trump the president of US has announced that there is shortage of Chloroquine because many US citizen even the doctors supply it for themselves and their families. On April Trump requested to PM Narendra Modi to export chloroquine in higher quantity.


There are many reports that shows that overdose of Chloroquine can cause acute poisoning to people by misinformation of helpful in Covid-19.Please consult with your doctor before taking this antimalarial drug (chloroquine).


The time has passed but there is also no vaccine available to cure from Covid-19. Quarantine yourself in home and be safe from Covid-19 and follow lockdown rules .
